The Center of Arab Women for Training and Research "CAWTAR" and the International Planned Parenthood Federation – Arab World Region will hold a regional Training of Trainers workshop in Tunisia from January 10 to 13, 2025, on the theme: "Advocating for the Engagement of Men and Boys in Efforts to End Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)." The training targets male trainers from Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and Mauritania.
The aim of the workshop is to equip participants with the necessary skills and tools to become leaders in their communities in the fight against FGM. The training will focus on empowering men and boys to be active partners in advocacy and awareness-raising efforts, as well as on developing strategies to challenge stereotypical ideas surrounding the practice. The sessions will include practical workshops on how to engage different segments of society in campaigns and build local support networks to amplify the positive role of men and boys in ending this harmful practice.
This training is part of the partnership program between CAWTAR and IPPF on "Enhancing the Engagement of Boys and Men in Efforts to Combat Female Genital Mutilation."
